Unfortunately, some terms of use are necessary. By using the system or requesting access to the members' area, the applicant agrees to the following terms:
1. Access to the Archive
Access to the archive must be requested. There is no right to access. Access is granted free of charge.
2. Access Data
The access data applies to the respective user for whom it was created. Sharing the data with other users is prohibited. If this is discovered, access will be revoked immediately and cannot be reapplied for. The access data must be kept secure.
3. Use of the Archive
The archive may be used for personal use as well as for research purposes.
4. Prohibitions
It is expressly forbidden to make material from this archive, which is not publicly accessible, freely available anywhere else on the internet. Likewise, content may only be reprinted in publications with the prior permission of the respective copyright holder. It is also forbidden to publicly denounce investigation results, insult, defame, or otherwise harass investigators or witnesses. If personal data is displayed anywhere, it may not be published anywhere outside of this archive. Violations will result in the immediate termination of access. Furthermore, we will impose a penalty fee of €1,000.
5. Copyright
Copyright belongs to the respective copyright holder. Use of material is permitted only with the prior permission of the copyright holder.
6. Investigation Results
The investigation results of the respective investigators must be respected. It is absolutely forbidden to question investigation results, publicly criticize them, or denounce them in any way. Violations will also result in the immediate loss of access.
7. Liability
By submitting the material, the donor warrants that they possess the copyright. In the event of a cease and desist letter due to copyright infringement, the donor shall indemnify UFO-CFMS against all claims. The donor bears sole responsibility for the submitted material.
8. Fair Use Principle
It is not permitted to generate high traffic within a short period of time. In accordance with the Fair Use Principle, we request responsible use of the archive.
9. Final Provisions
The invalidity of any of the above rules shall not affect the validity of the remaining rules in any way.
These Terms of Use are effective from January 1, 2026.
